Abstract

In this paper, the survivability level of telecommunication networks is analyzed based on Khorezem region of Uzbekistan as a case. The key goal of the study is to determine the strengths of the local communication infrastructure, as well as the opportunities of ensuring uninterrupted communication during faults. As the research object, the optical transport networks of the Khorezm region were chosen, considering the geographical features that have a direct influence on the stability of the network. In order to assess the survivability of the telecommunication system, the Weighted Spectrum (WS) metric was used. The study uses the WS approach to establish the impact of geographic or technical disruption to the overall performance efficiency of the network.
