Abstract

Cholera is a severe intestinal infection caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae, posing a significant global health threat. This article examines the morphological, genetic, and pathogenic characteristics of the cholera pathogen, as well as the mechanisms of infection development in the human body. The toxin-producing capacity of Vibrio cholerae and its impact on clinical manifestations are discussed alongside epidemiological data. The study provides a scientific basis for understanding cholera pathophysiology and for developing effective preventive measures.
