Ubiquitous Money: Embedding Performance Intelligence into Physical Currency

Abstract

This paper proposes a radical reimagining of physical currency through the integration of ubiquitous computing technology. By embedding NFC chips into banknotes and coins, each unit of currency can record, calculate, and update its own performance score based on the V=N/D framework (Value = Service / Friction). Unlike cryptocurrency which manages the quantity of money, Ubiquitous Money manages the quality of money — creating a self-aware monetary ecosystem that aligns economic incentives with genuine human contribution. This represents a civilizational shift: money that knows its own performance.
