Satomi Kokubu received an M.S. in 1963 from Tokyo Institute of Technology. The same year he joined Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co., Ltd. (presently Toshiba). He has been working on the development of equipment related to medical electronics. In 1966 he was appointed a Lecturer at Utsunomiya University. He is engaged in research on instruments for medical electronics and phenomena of atmospheric electricity. He is a member of Japanese Society for Medical Electronics; Society for Electronics, Information and Communications; and Japanese Society for Atmospheric Electricity
