Temperature dependences of the thermal conductivity of Pbl2 layered crystals parallel and perpendicular to the layers are studied experimentally in the temperature range 2–30 °K under uniaxial loading. An analysis of the experimental results allows one to assume that the lowering of thermal conductivity parallel to the layers and its increase in the perpendicular direction under compression can be explained by the decrease in the anisotropy of the crystal due to the phonon spectrum becoming “three-dimensional.”
