On the effect of dislocations on the chemical potential of conduction electrons in metals

Аннотация
The shift of the electron chemical potential level in a metal caused by linear edge dislocations is computed. It is shown that the main effect is due to the departure of a fraction of the electrons from the conduction band to states localized at dislocation lines (dislocation bands).
