Unifinder: A University Recommender System Enabled with EDAS - A Multi-Criteria Decision Making Model

The UniFinder is a kind of recommender application that aims to assist ambitious students in overcoming the challenges to find the global branded universities offering quality education. Unifinder is a web based responsive platform where the registered learners can check the seats available under their preferred universities and their ranking. Unifinder takes the role of a recommender suggesting which university is the best for the potential registered candidate. The application uses the multi criteria decision making model called EDAS (Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution). The purpose of EDAS is to provide ranking of the universities and the source of information is extracted from trusted APIs (Application Programming Interface). Learners could save their time and use it productively with the support of Unifinder. The application will provide search facility for the candidates with best ranked university based on the anticipated parameters of the learner such as academic reputation and accreditations, quality of education offered, fee structure, proximity of the academic unit, testimonials, feedbacks, global popularity, placements, faculty competencies and campus facilities etc., earned by them. The application also provides mock test as per the pattern of interview tests conducted in the corresponding University/Institution. Appraisal board bodies could also use this application as it integrates all education based data together to receive the opinion about an university.
