Production of tin-lead solder based on archaeological lead for low-background experiments
Аннотация
Abstract The present study reports the production of low radioactive tin-lead solder (at a ratio of 60% to 40%) based on archaeological lead. The solder can be employed in low-background experiments, which search for dark matter and the neutrinoless double beta decay using the bolometric method. The product impurity content has been estimated via low-background gamma spectrometry. The specific activity of the 238 U, 232 Th, and 40 K isotopes in the synthesized solder was below the minimum detection activity of the spectrometer ( 40 K < 1.24 mBg/kg, 232 Th < 2 mBg/kg and 238 U < 8.6 mBg/kg).
