Аннотация

This paper explores the operation status of backbone transport network fiber-optic communication lines under the extreme weather conditions of continental climate of Karakalpakstan region of Republic of Uzbekistan. An OTDR equipment was used to measure the measurements and SOR and CSV trace format obtained was processed in MATLAB software. The attenuation of waves and the behavior of backscattering of the fiber optical communication lines were analyzed using wavelet transform techniques. The findings prove that the main mechanical effects of extreme temperature changes can produce a discernible effect on the signal characteristics. These results underline the necessity of constant monitoring and high-quality signal processing techniques of preventing the long-term functioning and condition of fiber-optic installations in regions, which have adverse environment.
