Adaptive Switching between LiFi and WiFi for Seamless Connectivity in High-Speed Transport Systems
Аннотация
These high-speed transport networks like high-speed trains, metro systems, and smart highways require wireless technology that will provide them with high data and ultra-low latency in addition to the mobile nature that can be seamlessly moved. The traditional WiFi-based solutions experience lack of spectrum congestion, high frequency handover, as well as poor performance at high mobility. The commercially deployed Light Fidelity (LiFi), which takes advantage of visible light communication, offers high capacity, short-range links, though it is vulnerable to blockage and line of sight limitations. This paper will suggest a dynamic LiFi-WiFi switch system which will help to choose the best access technology according to channel quality, mobility status, and service demands. An evaluation parameter involving signal-to-noise-ratio, packet delivery ratio, and the cost of handover is developed to deliver connectedness without mishaps. The result of the simulation shows that, the proposed adaptive scheme will have much better throughput, less latency, and higher reliability than the stand alone WiFi or even the fixed hybrid schemes, thus being adopted in the next generation high speed transport system.
