WOMEN AND CRIME: CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES, AND PREVENTION STRATEGIES
Аннотация
Women’s involvement in crime, both as offenders and as victims, represents a complex social and legal challenge in modern societies. Although women commit fewer crimes compared to men, various economic, social, and psychological factors contribute to their participation in criminal activity. At the same time, women remain one of the most vulnerable groups with regard to domestic violence, exploitation, and discrimination. This article examines the main causes of crime involving women, analyzes its social and legal consequences, and explores effective prevention strategies. Particular attention is given to preventive policies, social protection mechanisms, and legal measures aimed at reducing criminal behavior among women and preventing crimes committed against them. The study emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive approach combining legal regulation, social support, and prevention.
