This article paves the knowledge about the next generation Bluetooth Standard-BT 5 that will bring some mesmerizing upgrades including increased range, speed, and broadcast messaging capacity. Further, three relevant queries such as what is better about BT 5, why does that matter, and how will it affect IoT have been explained to gather related information so that developers, practitioners, and naive people could formulate BT 5 into IoT based applications while assimilating the need of short range communication in true sense.
