Using the reduced-density-matrix formalism, the interaction time of two heavy nuclei is studied. In the reactions $^{136}\mathrm{Xe}+^{136}\mathrm{Xe}$ and $^{238}\mathrm{U}+^{238}\mathrm{U}$, the mean interaction time and variance of interaction time distribution are calculated and compared with those of other treatments.
