EPR spectrum at tellurium vacancies in Pb1−xSnxTe solid solutions
Аннотация
The superposition of two EPR spectra is observed in n-type Pb0.84Sn0.l6Te single crystals in the temperature range 1.6–18°K at a frequency of v = 36.04·109 Hz, one corresponding to the EPR spectrum of a system of spins in the triplet state whose symmetry axes are randomly disoriented in space with an initial splitting of D≃0.1 cm−1, and the other to the EPR spectrum of a system of spin-centers with S = 1/2. It is shown that with an increase in temperature the integral intensity of the spectra decreases, while the concentration of conduction electrons increases. Analysis of the shape of the absorption curve and the correlation established between changes in concentration of tellurium vacancies, of conduction electrons, and the intensity of the EPR spectrum enable us to draw conclusions about the connection of its origin with the tellurium vacancies.
