Two-dimensional charge systems in metal-insulator-insulator structures

A possibility of realization of two-dimensional electron and hole systems in a new type (metal–insulator–insulator (MII)) of structures is considered. The investigation into such structures provides interesting information about the properties of insulators like characteristics of carriers, peculiarities of transfer, and properties of the surface.
