An Outlook at Corporate Environmental Performance Through the Lens of Green Supply Chain Management, Green Innovation, Sustainable Dynamic Capabilities, and Governance Quality in an Emerging Economy

ABSTRACT Corporate environmental performance (CEP) has become an essential pillar of sustainable development during the 21st century, particularly in light of climate change and global ecological degradation. In Ghana, where industrial development coexists with environmental vulnerabilities, there is an essential need for a deliberate focus on sustainable business practices. This work explores the effects of green supply chain management (GSCM), green innovation (GNI), and sustainable dynamic capabilities (SDCs) moderated by governance quality (GVQ) on CEP among Ghana's manufacturing sector. Reinforced by the resource‐based and natural resource‐based views, this study constructs an integrated model to investigate the interactive effect of these variables. The firm‐level information and structural equation modeling outcomes show that GSCM affects CEP, especially when complemented with GNI and robust SDC. Further, quality governance increases the effectiveness of green practices through institutional congruence and environmental responsibility. The results support Ghanaian firms' need to build adaptive capacities, invest in eco‐innovation, and collaborate with regulatory agencies to attain sustainability goals. The study contributes to emerging economy studies by placing green performance mechanisms in sub‐Saharan Africa and offering actionable recommendations to industry leaders and policymakers. Finally, the study suggests ways businesses in Ghana and similar economies can align competitiveness with environmental stewardship to pursue a greener future.
