The Role of African Prory in Rotations to Improve Soil Health

African millet (Pennisetum glaucum) is one of the key grain crops with high adaptability to arid conditions and valuable agroecological properties. In Uzbekistan’s conditions, this crop not only provides stable nutritious grain production but also plays an important role in maintaining and improving soil health when included in crop rotations. The deep root system of African millet contributes to the improvement of soil structure, increases its moisture retention capacity, and reduces the risk of erosion. After harvesting, plant residues enrich the soil with organic matter, increase humus content, and stimulate the development of beneficial microflora.
