Аннотация

The pursuit of gender equity in the workplace has witnessed decades of advocacy, policy reforms, and organizational initiatives, yet progress remains frustratingly slow. This chapter examines the persistent challenges and incremental advancement toward gender parity across global workplaces, analyzing why achieving equitable representation, compensation, and opportunity continues to elude organizations worldwide. Drawing on comprehensive data from the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Reports (2021-2025), McKinsey's Women in the Workplace studies, and the World Bank's gender equality research, this analysis reveals that at current rates of progress, it will take 123 years to achieve global gender parity. The chapter explores the structural, cultural, and institutional barriers impeding advancement, including the “broken rung” phenomenon where women face critical promotion gaps at the managerial level, persistent occupational segregation, and underrepresentation in leadership despite educational parity.
