Annotatsiya

Within the framework of the nonlinear Thomas–Fermi approximation and the continuum dislocation theory that takes account of the finite dislocation width we carried out a consistent consideration of the electrostatic interaction of dislocations with an impurity atom whose relative valency was renormalized with allowance for lattice distortions around it. The total interaction energy is shown to contain terms linear and quadratic in the effective impurity charge and a term of electrodimensional interaction as well as terms due to elastic interactions. Quantitatively, the contribution from each term is significant and comparable in magnitude to those from the other terms but the signs may be different, as a result of which the interaction picture is rather complicated. Suggestions are given as to directions to be taken in analyzing the experimental results with a view to obtaining qualitatively new information about the interaction of dislocations with impurity atoms.
