Flux-quantization oscillations in normal metals and semiconductors in the localization regime

Resistance oscillations with a relative amplitude of the order of unity and period hc/e are predicted to occur in interferometers based on normal metals and semiconductors in the regime of one-dimensional localization or in the presence of weak contacts. In systems that are effectively one-dimensional the maximum amplitude of the oscillations is ∼ − 1/N, where N is the number of channels, N=kP2S (S is the cross-sectional area).
