Relation between the non-Josephson generation in superconducting films and the spatial structure of phase-slip centers

It has been established experimentally that non-Josephson generation, determined by the current density at the boundaries of a region with radius ∼ [ξ (t)l(t)] 1/2, confined within the superconducting margins, is observed in short samples whose length is less than the diffusion depth of quasiparticles. It is suggested that this phenomenon is linked with the structure of the resistive current-carrying state and with the characteristics of current transport by quasiparticles, accompanied by liberation of energy in the form of electromagnetic oscillations.
