Processes stimulated by exciton localization in oxygen–neon solid solutions
Annotatsiya
Processes stimulated by localization of excitons in the neon matrix at O2 and Xe impurity centers are investigated by cathode luminescence spectroscopy. It was found that (1) the trapping of electron excitations of the matrix by O2 molecules leads to effective dissociation; (2) the excitation of O and Xe impurity atoms causes an accelerated migration of these atoms over the crystal and exciton-stimulated desorption of O*; (3) defects are formed in the vicinity of impurity centers; and (4) XeO* excimer compounds are formed in Ne–O2–Xe solutions. The mechanisms of these processes associated with the transfer of the electron excitation energy of the matrix to the impurity subsystem and with its subsequent relaxation are considered.
