Fig leaves are leaves of ficus carica which belongs to Moraceae Ficus,Fig subgenus and Fig species.Fig leaves can be collected multiple during summer and autumn.The leaves are pre-emergency after drying in the sun or in the shade,also can be used in fresh.The leaves are traditionally used for expelling dampness,anti-damp toxin,detumescence and alleviating pain.They can be used to treat diarrhea due to damp-heat,leukorrhea,hemorrhoids,carbuncles and scrofula.Pharmacological studies showed that the extraction of fig leaves had visible activities of antioxidant,antibiosis and antiviral,and can be used to treat diabetes,hyperglycemia,hyperlipemia and cancer.
