Preliminary Study on the Mutagenic Effects of Radiation on Bougainvillea glabra

Taking the branches of four varieties of Bougainvillea glabra‘Red basin',‘Golden heart double color',‘Green leaves purple',‘Green leaves white'and the seedlings of‘Red basin'as materials,the effect of different doses of 60Co?γ radiation on survival rate,withered bud rate,variation rate and the growth of seedlings were studied.The results showed that the radiation can promote,delay or inhibit the growth of cutting line,for example,the survival rate of‘Red basin' and‘Green leaves purple'at 20Gy and 30Gy,and‘Green leaves white'at 10Gy and 20Gy were higher than the contrasts;radiation made the leaves of the cutting appearing various variation symptoms;tolerance of the 4varieties of radiation from strong to weak was:‘Green leaves purple',‘Red basin',‘Green leaves white',‘Golden heart double color'.
