Foundations of Civil Society: Study Guide / A. Jalilov, U. Muhammadiev, Q. Juraev, et al. — Tashkent, 2015. — 264 p. Authors: A. Jalilov, U. Muhammadiev, Q. Juraev, Sh. Yakubov, E. Kholova, N. ShodievReviewers: Prof. A. Begmatov (Doctor of Philosophy), A. Yuldashev (Candidate of Legal Sciences) DescriptionThe growing need for democratic development in Uzbekistan has created new academic and practical demands for studying the foundations of civil society. In response to this need, the Department of Foundations of Civil Society at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan initiated the preparation of the study guide Foundations of Civil Society. The project received financial support from the United Nations Development Programme to promote democratic development. This study guide is the result of academic collaboration among scholars working at the Academy of Public Administration, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Independent Institute for Monitoring the Formation of Civil Society. The publication examines the historical development of the concept of civil society, its contemporary evolution, and the institutions that contribute to its development, drawing on research by both local and international scholars. The guide was prepared with financial support from the UNDP Representative Office in Uzbekistan.
