Abstract This chapter is a collection of the author's poetry, written during the late 1950s. The subjects vary, touching upon such topics as myths and nature and sundry, and are spread across a rough five-year period. The poems are as follows: The Wind Goes Back (1956), 8:13 p.m. (1956), When July Came (1956), Starry Night (1957), The Vermilion Bird (1957), Sugarcane Flowers (1957), Evening Tide (1958), Concluding Remarks (1958), Downstairs (1958), and Your Face (1959).
