Annotatsiya

The attenuation coefficient of acoustics waves in paratellurite crystals has been investigated by the Bragg diffraction of light method in the frequency range 0.4–1.6 GHz. The results were used for the determination of the real and imaginary components of the complex tensor of elastic constants. To determine the attenuation and velocity of acoustic waves in the (001) plane at the angles close to the X (or Y) axis (the angles less than 4 degrees) approximate formulas were used for the first time instead of the Christoffel – Green equations. The obtained effective elastic constants allow more correctly describe the anisotropy of the acoustic attenuation and velocity in this plane. It is shown that anomalously strong anisotropy of acoustic attenuation is observed for the transverse wave propagating in the plane (1-10).
