Annotatsiya

This paper shows inadequacy of contemporary conceptions of physics on nature of thermoelectric phenomena (Sebeck, Peltie and Thomson effects), based on linear nonequilibrium thermodynamics, to experimental data having in wide range of temperature and for various materials (pure metals, Si, Ge, intermetallic and oxide compounds, borides, silicides). Shape extrema of thermopower (increasing up to 100−1000 times) and change of its sign are observed experimentally. Reasons for use of methods of nonlinear nonequilibrium thermodynamics and structure conceptions of thermoelectric materials are motivated.
