The Relationship between Dark Green Colour Index (DGCI) Measured using Mobile Apps and Leaf Nitrogen in Productive Oil Palm Tree (<i>Elaeis guineensis</i> Jacq.)
Annotatsiya
Abstract Nitrogen is one of the most important soil nutrients which is abundantly provided for plant, including in oil palm trees. It is important to the plant physiological aspect, including photosynthesis by influencing the chlorophyll synthesis. Chlorophyll measurement could be indirect reflection of nitrogen content in the leaf of plant, and it could now be carried out easily by using mobile application according to DGCI approach. Thus, this research aimed to determine the relationship between nitrogen content in the leaf of oil palm trees and DGCI value using Petiole Pro application. The research was carried out at the oil palm plantation owned by PT. Mamuang in Martasari, Pedongga, District Tikke Raya, Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi Province from June to August 2023. The results showed that there was a strong relationship between nitrogen nutrient content and DGCI value with R 2 value of 0,7534 with a significant result (p-value < 0.05). In addition, the oil palm trees in the sampling location were revealed to undergo nitrogen deficiency according to the nitrogen content (as low as 1.533 ± 0.094%).
