Tourist hotspots that rely on delicate ecosystems are facing new challenges, including overuse of resources, biodiversity loss, and climate change. Grounded in resource management principles, sustainable tourism aims to strike a balance between economic growth and environmental conservation. This paper examines how collaborative education, as an active learning approach, catalyzes ecological stewardship in tourism. Through the application of sustainability engineering, including the integration of renewable energy, efficient water management, protected ecosystems, and lower waste, together with active education, community stakeholders can develop adaptive management plans that safeguard the ecosystems. This paper also explores the impact of knowledge transfer, eco-literacy, and community-based education programs on responsible tourism and local stewardship. This research highlights the importance of integrating technical sustainability measures with social learning frameworks to co-create knowledge that enhances the sustainability of tourism hotspots. This study examines the impact of biotechnological breakthroughs, such as green architecture and intelligent monitoring systems, when integrated with biotechnical engineering and advanced environmental technologies, on ecological preservation in tourism hubs. These innovations contribute to the conservation of marine and freshwater biodiversity, sustainable fisheries, soil conservation, and the protection of marine and freshwater ecosystems. The results reveal collaborative education as a flexible and central approach that enhances the adoption of sustainable actions, policy development, and ensures that tourism activities enhance the ecological backpack and social capital of regions while contributing to community welfare.
