Annotatsiya

This article explores the significance of global citizenship skills in preparing future English Language Teaching (ELT) professionals to analyze media discourse effectively. In the digital age, media messages are pervasive, diverse, and influential, requiring teachers to equip students with critical thinking, intercultural awareness, and ethical reasoning. The study emphasizes that integrating global citizenship concepts into ELT curricula fosters learners’ ability to interpret, evaluate, and respond to media content responsibly. By developing skills such as media literacy, cross-cultural communication, and reflective analysis, future teachers can guide students in navigating complex global issues through language learning. The findings suggest that emphasizing global citizenship not only enhances pedagogical competence but also cultivates socially responsible and culturally sensitive educators capable of preparing students for a globalized world.
