Theory of spin and spin-orbital magnetic susceptibility of cadmium alloys

Abstract

The spin and spin-orbital contributions of states in the neighborhood of the vertical edge of the Brillouin zone to the magnetic susceptibility of cadmium alloys are calculated. Although the absolute value of these components is small compared to the orbital contribution, taking them into account can turn out to be necessary for a detailed analysis of the band structure of cadmium alloys by using the magnetic susceptibility.
