Abstract

A quinazolinthione, C 17 H 14 N 2 OS, was synthesized by the condensation reaction of 6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-11 H -pyrido[2,1- b ]quinazolin-11-thione with furfural. The molecule crystallizes in the monoclinic system ( Cc space group) and has an E configuration with respect to the exocyclic C=C bond. In the crystal, molecules are linked through C—H...π(furan) interactions, forming zigzag chains propagating along the [001] direction.
