Abstract

The wave functions and energy spectrum of the unbound state of the Wannier-Mott exciton in a semiconductor wire in the presence of size quantization have been determined. Numerical calculations of the coefficient of interband light absorption are carried out taking into account exciton effects. It is shown that the interaction of an electron and a hole leads to the appearance of new anomalies in the spectrum of interband absorption and the Sommerfeld factor.
