Semiconductor voltaics: Problems and prospects

The paper presents a concept according to which, in addition to existing thermoelectricity (voltaic), photovoltaic, and thermophotovoltaic, in the future the following branches can be formed and developed: photothermovoltaic, themophotothermovoltaic, and impurity voltaic. All these volataics can be summarized by the term semiconductor voltaics, since voltaic effects intrinsic to them are caused by photogeneration, thermogen-, eration, and separation of electron-hole pairs in semiconductor p-n structures. Several ideas related to thermo-, photo-, thermophoto-, thermophotothermo-, and impurity voltaics are presented.
