Аннотация

This paper analyzes the conditions for regulating the increase of the lifetime of charge carriers during recombination processes in semiconductors at low temperatures 1–10 K and classically ‘‘strong’’ magnetic fields ( $$3\times 10^{2}{-}3\times 10^{4}$$ ) G. The carrier concentration values ( $$10^{10}{-}10^{14}$$ ) cm $${}^{-3}$$ correspond to the conditions for the manifestation of both cascade and resonant capture. It is pointed out that it is necessary to take into account the scattering of electrons by acoustic phonons, along with electron-electron collisions, during their cascade capture by Coulomb centers. As shown (on the basis of specific estimates), it is the inclusion of scattering by acoustic phonons that stabilizes the lifetime and controls its growth dynamics in the presence of a ‘‘strong’’ magnetic field.
